Two Very Different Moments in Time in Circle Long Teaser

.;a1a1Wow.  TvN is going all out in their new suspense, mystery, sci-fi, post-apocalyptic drama Circle!  The past and present version of our lead played by Yeo Jin Goo & Kim Kang Woo race around solving murders.  And we see two very different ways of life portrayed thanks to the emergence of aliens.  Yup.  I said aliens.

Synopsis: Taking place in both the present year 2017 and in the year 2037, when people believe that their future depends on humans controlling and regulating their emotions, this drama is a sci-fi mystery. When alien visitors arrive on Earth, humans learn new skills from them and take advantage of them; what ensues is a story of alliance, resistance, and love.
Each episode will contain two shorter stories, the first part set in 2017 and called “Beta Project,” with the second set in 2037 and called “Grand New World.”

I personally am interested to see how Korea takes on the concept of aliens in a non-romantic setting.  We rarely see dramas going into science fiction since they tend to stick pretty close to fantasy/folk stories so this is a whole new genre to explore.  I guess only time will tell if this will be a new drama fad or this one attempt will be shoved away as a failed project.

Circle is set to air on May 22nd with a special episode 0 airing on the 16th.  Let us know your thoughts on the new genre in the topics and we look forward to chatting more drama teaser and topics in future post.

  1. I’m really looking forward to this because Yeo Jin Goo is one of my favorite younger actors and the premise is intriguing. I’m just keeping my fingers crossed that they get it right since this is pretty much a new genre for kdramas.
